Frequently asked questions
What kind of transports does Oversize Transports handle?
We arrange heavy haulage and abnormal load transports of up to 200 tonnes: machinery, plant modules, transformers, construction equipment and oversize packages – using low-loaders and modular trailers, BF3/BF4 escort vehicles, permit management and crane coordination, across the EU as well as to Türkiye, the Caucasus and Central Asia.
How does a heavy haulage project work?
It starts with a feasibility study: dimensions, weight, route, bridge loads and clearance heights. We then apply for the permits (in Germany under the German road traffic regulations, StVO §29), plan escort vehicles and crane provision and run the transport with continuous project support through to final delivery.
How long does a heavy haulage permit take?
Depending on the federal state, the route and how far the standard dimensions are exceeded, a permit under StVO §29 usually takes one to four weeks. International projects additionally require the permits of every transit country – we coordinate the entire chain and plan realistic lead times.
Does Oversize Transports also run to Central Asia?
Yes, that is our speciality: heavy cargo corridors to Türkiye, Georgia, Armenia and Azerbaijan as well as to Kazakhstan, Turkmenistan and Uzbekistan – via the Middle Corridor with customs and transit handling, without any transit through Russia.
