Dedicated & Direct Transport – Your Vehicle, Your Cargo, No Transhipment

At a glance

Dedicated and direct transport without transhipment: a dedicated vehicle takes your urgent or sensitive cargo straight to its destination – EU-wide as well as Turkey, the Caucasus and Central Asia, around the clock.

When the consignment cannot wait: a dedicated vehicle, a direct route

A production line at a standstill, a failed machine part, a project delivery with a fixed installation date: in cases like these, what counts is not the cheapest loading space but the fastest reliable connection. For dedicated and direct transports, Oversize Transports provides a dedicated vehicle exclusively for your consignment – no groupage detours, no transhipment, on a direct route from consignor to consignee. We are reachable 24/7 for this, weekends included.

Direct transport or dedicated transport – which is which?

  • Direct transport: the vehicle runs from the collection point to the destination without intermediate stops and without transhipment. Your goods are the only cargo on board.
  • Dedicated transport: an individually planned assignment outside regular services – outside the usual hours, on unusual lanes, or with special requirements for vehicle and handling.

In practice the two combine: the urgent consignment gets its own vehicle (direct transport) and is dispatched individually (dedicated transport). What counts for you is the result – the shortest possible, reliably planned transit time.

Scope of services

  • A dedicated vehicle to suit the consignment – from a curtainsider to a low-loader or semi-low-loader, when the urgent part is heavy or bulky as well. The choice of vehicle follows the dimensions, weight and the loading/unloading options on site, not whatever happens to be free.
  • No transhipment: lower risk of damage and no time lost at handling points – relevant for sensitive machine components.
  • Direct routing with a realistic transit time commitment, including driving hours and border clearance.
  • EU-wide and on our corridors: Turkey, the Caucasus and Central Asia – for third-country destinations including prepared customs clearance (T1, TIR Carnet), so the border does not become the bottleneck.
  • Status reports throughout the run, with one dedicated contact through to delivery.

Process: from enquiry to delivery

1. Enquiry – around the clock

You tell us the cargo, dimensions, weight, collection point and date. We check vehicle availability immediately and give you a price and a binding transit time.

2. Dispatch

The appropriate vehicle is dispatched directly to the loading point. For third-country destinations we prepare the customs papers in parallel, so that clearance does not slow the direct transport down.

3. Execution with status reports

During the run we inform you of every relevant milestone – loading, border crossing, estimated arrival – through to confirmed delivery.

Typical cases from practice

We most often dispatch direct transports for three situations: production downtime – a spare part or replacement unit has to get from the manufacturer to the idle plant as fast as possible; installation and project dates – a component has to be at the site exactly for the crane window or shutdown window, and too early is as expensive as too late; resupply for ongoing projects abroad – an urgent single consignment has to follow an already delivered plant to Turkey or Central Asia. In all three cases, the dedicated vehicle pays off not through the freight rate but through the follow-on costs it avoids.

Dedicated transport with excess dimensions?

Urgent consignments can also be too wide, too tall or too heavy for normal traffic. The run then remains a dedicated transport but becomes permit-liable: official processing times for the permit under StVO §29 and any escort conditions also set the pace. We tell you honestly what transit time is achievable and speed up whatever can be sped up – through a routing with fewer conditions, for example. The cost of a dedicated transport depends on the distance, vehicle type, urgency and, where applicable, the permit situation; you receive a binding quotation before placing the order.

Frequently asked questions: Dedicated / Direct Transport

What is the difference between a direct transport and a dedicated transport?

A direct transport runs from the collection point to the destination without intermediate stops or transhipment – your goods are the only cargo. A dedicated transport is an individually planned assignment outside regular services, for example at night, at weekends or with special equipment. For urgent consignments we usually combine the two: own vehicle, individual dispatch.

How quickly can you provide a vehicle?

We are reachable 24/7 and check availability immediately after your enquiry. How quickly a vehicle is at the loading point depends on the region, the vehicle type and the time of day – for common vehicles in Central Europe, often the same day. You receive a binding commitment for collection and delivery before placing the order.

Which consignments justify a direct transport?

Whenever time or sensitivity is the deciding factor: spare parts during production downtime, machine components with a fixed installation date, sensitive goods that will not tolerate transhipment, or project deliveries with contractual penalties for delay. The premium over groupage is usually far smaller than the cost of another day of downtime.

Do you also run dedicated transports internationally?

Yes, EU-wide as well as on our corridors to Turkey, the Caucasus and Central Asia. For third-country destinations we prepare the customs clearance – T1 procedure or TIR Carnet – in parallel with dispatch, so that border clearance does not slow the direct transport down. Routes towards Central Asia are planned via the sanctions-free Middle Corridor.

Is a dedicated transport possible with oversize or heavy cargo?

Yes – the run then becomes permit-liable. The permit under StVO §29 and any escort conditions (BF3/BF4) require official processing time, which we factor realistically into the transit time commitment. Where possible we speed things up through a routing with fewer conditions and suitable equipment such as a low-loader with a low deck height.

What does a dedicated or direct transport cost?

The decisive factors are the distance, vehicle type, urgency and, in the case of excess dimensions, the permit situation. Fixed tariffs would be misleading for individually dispatched runs; we calculate every enquiry specifically and immediately and give you a binding quotation before you place the order – depending on route, weight and date. We accept enquiries around the clock.
