International transport without excess dimensions – plannable through our network

Not every consignment heading for Turkey or Central Asia is a heavy haulage job. For standard cargo – palletised goods, machine parts in crates, building materials, plant accessories – Oversize Transports organises international transport as a full load (FTL), part load or groupage through an established partner network. You benefit from the same well-run lanes we use for our heavy lift projects: EU-wide as well as to Turkey, Georgia, Armenia, Azerbaijan, Kazakhstan, Turkmenistan and Uzbekistan.

Scope of services

  • Full loads (FTL): the entire loading space for your goods – no transhipment, direct from consignor to consignee.
  • Part loads and groupage: on our corridors we consolidate consignments within the network; you pay only for the loading space your goods occupy.
  • Customs clearance: export and transit papers, T1 transit procedure, TIR Carnet for third-country traffic – prepared before the truck reaches the border.
  • Documentation: CMR consignment note, certificates of origin and country-specific accompanying documents, matched to the destination country.
  • Scheduling: realistic transit times including border clearance, rather than driving times massaged to look good.

How your international transport runs

1. Enquiry and route planning

You tell us the cargo, the collection and delivery points and your preferred date. We check the lane, the loading space available in the network and the customs requirements of the destination country, and give you a concrete quotation with a transit time.

2. Documents and customs preparation

Before departure we make sure all papers are complete – from the CMR through the commercial invoice and packing list to the T1 or TIR Carnet. Missing or incorrect documents are the most common cause of waiting time at third-country borders; that is exactly what we head off in advance.

3. Transport with a dedicated contact

While the goods are on the road we keep you updated on border crossings and delivery. If you have questions you can reach us around the clock – even when the consignment happens to be between two time zones.

Typical consignments

This service mainly handles consignments from industry and trade: palletised series goods and spare parts, machine accessories and tools in crates, building materials and sections for project sites, equipment and consumables following on behind a heavy lift project that has already been delivered. That last case is a frequent one: the plant has reached the destination by heavy haulage, but accessories, spare parts packages and installation material have to be reliably supplied over a period of months – and recurring groupage on our corridors is the most economical solution for exactly that.

Lanes: EU, Turkey, Caucasus, Central Asia

Within the EU we run without customs formalities and with short transit times. To Turkey and onwards into the Caucasus and Central Asia we use established routes via the Middle Corridor (Turkey – Georgia – Caspian Sea), which avoids Russia and Belarus entirely and therefore remains free of sanctions constraints. Which goods are permissible in each destination country is something we check per consignment as part of the customs preparation.

When this service is the right one – and when it is not

International transport through the network is the right choice when your cargo stays within the usual dimensions and weights and should travel economically rather than as fast as possible. If the consignment exceeds the permissible dimensions or gross weight, it becomes a permit-liable international heavy haulage movement with project planning of its own. And when it is a matter of hours rather than days, a dedicated transport with its own vehicle is the better solution. In all three cases you get an honest recommendation from us as to which route is the most economical for your consignment – depending on route, weight and time pressure.

Frequently asked questions: International Transport

What is the difference between a full load, a part load and groupage?

With a full load (FTL) your goods occupy the entire loading space and travel directly to the consignee without transhipment. Part loads and groupage share the loading space with other consignments on the same lane: cheaper per consignment, but with a somewhat longer transit time, because several loading and unloading points are served.

Which countries do you organise international transport to?

EU-wide, and on our specialist corridors to Turkey, Georgia, Armenia and Azerbaijan as well as to Kazakhstan, Turkmenistan and Uzbekistan. We run these lanes regularly and know the customs practice at the border crossings – which reduces waiting times and makes transit times plannable.

Which documents do I need for a transport to a third country?

The standard set is the CMR consignment note, the commercial invoice and the packing list. Depending on the destination country, certificates of origin, the export declaration and the transit procedure – T1 or TIR Carnet – are added. We tell you in advance exactly which papers your consignment needs and prepare the customs clearance so the truck does not sit at the border.

How long does a transport to Turkey or Kazakhstan take?

Direct services to Turkey are usually delivered within a week, depending on the departure point and border clearance. To Kazakhstan via the Middle Corridor including the ferry across the Caspian Sea, around two to three weeks is realistic – depending on ferry frequency and customs clearance. Binding transit times are stated in our quotation.

What determines the cost of an international transport?

The decisive factors are the lane and distance, the type and weight of the cargo, whether it is a full load or groupage, the customs and transit procedures, and seasonal availability of loading space. Fixed price lists would be misleading on third-country lanes; we calculate every enquiry specifically and give you a binding quotation – depending on route, weight and date.

Do you also handle the complete customs clearance?

Yes. We prepare export and transit documents, open T1 procedures or organise the TIR Carnet, and coordinate clearance with the border offices. As part of this we check per consignment which goods are permissible in the respective destination country – including the current sanctions situation on routes towards the Caucasus and Central Asia.
