When does a transport require a permit?
As soon as the standard dimensions of the German vehicle licensing regulations (StVZO) are exceeded: more than 2.55 m in width, 4.00 m in height, 16.50 m in length (articulated vehicle) or 40 t gross weight. An authorisation under StVO §29 or an exemption under StVO §46 is then required.
How long does a heavy haulage permit take?
Depending on the route, the number of authorities involved and the extent of the excess, usually one to four weeks. Cross-border transports need a separate permit for each country – we factor the lead time in from the outset.
What does a heavy haulage transport cost?
There is no list price. The price depends on dimensions, weight, route, permits and escort. After a free feasibility study we quote a binding fixed price. Details under /en/pricing.
Which Incoterms suit international heavy haulage?
FCA, CPT/CIP or DAP are frequently used. What matters is who bears the permits, customs and transport insurance. On complex corridors a clause that clearly assigns responsibility is advisable – we advise on this project by project.
Can I track my transport?
Yes. For live projects we keep you informed about status and milestones – from loading through border crossings to delivery. For multi-day corridor runs we agree fixed update points.
How long does a transport to Central Asia take?
Via the Middle Corridor you should allow several weeks depending on the destination, including the Caspian ferry and permits – for example Türkiye 1–3 weeks, the Caucasus 2–5 weeks, Central Asia 4–9 weeks. Guide values for each country can be found on the country pages.
Which customs procedures apply to non-EU transports?
For transit through third countries we use T1 or the TIR carnet, and for Türkiye additionally the A.TR movement certificate. We take care of customs clearance and border coordination.
Do you also provide escort vehicles?
Yes. Wherever the permit requires BF2, BF3 or BF4, we provide the escort and coordinate traffic-directing measures. More under /en/bf3-bf4-escort-vehicles.
Up to what weight do you transport?
We arrange heavy haulage and abnormal load transports of up to 200 tonnes. Using modular trailers that can be extended axle by axle, we adapt the payload to the project.
Do you also drive through Russia?
No. We serve the Caucasus and Central Asia via the Middle Corridor – without transit through Russia and fully sanctions-compliant.
What details do you need for a quote?
Collection and delivery point, weight, dimensions (L×W×H), type of load and your preferred date. With those we check feasibility and route and come back to you with a fixed price.
