Permits across several federal states

The permit under German road traffic regulations (StVO §29) is issued route-specifically; for deliveries to Hamburg, several federal states are involved depending on the origin – Lower Saxony or Schleswig-Holstein, for example, plus the Free and Hanseatic City of Hamburg. Within Hamburg, coordination on port traffic routing is added. At large dimensions, the authority prescribes BF3 or BF4 escorting, in some cases with police escort and night-travel conditions. We run all procedures in parallel and align the conditions so that the transport runs through without intermediate stops.

Once the order is placed, the permit applications run; the delivery is phased onto the yard's crane and dock windows. During the transport, a personal project manager is at your disposal around the clock. We also examine multimodal variants: on some lanes, the pre-carriage by inland vessel into the port is the more economical solution, with road carriage only for the final kilometres.

Putting costs in realistic perspective

Flat rates for shipyard heavy haulage would not be credible: permit effort, escort conditions and detours due to bridge loads differ considerably depending on route, weight and permit situation.
