Service area Southern Germany
Bavaria and Baden-Württemberg form the industrial heart of German mechanical and plant engineering – and with it one of the richest sources of heavy and oversize cargo. Oversize Transports serves Southern Germany as an established service area and point of origin, without a branch of our own: HSNK's registered office is in Prague, and we ensure German availability through a +49 30 telephone number and a personal project manager for every order. From Southern Germany we plan and move heavy and abnormal load transports with individual weights of up to 200 tonnes: regionally, throughout Germany, EU-wide and via our own corridors to Turkey, the Caucasus and Central Asia.
Mechanical engineering as a point of origin
The south exports like no other region: machine tools, presses, printing and packaging technology, injection moulding plant as well as power and drive technology go from here all over the world. Typical assignments from Southern Germany are new machines ex works, site relocations between plants, and used machinery following auctions or plant closures. For loading we use low-loaders, semi-low-loaders or modular trailers depending on the cargo and coordinate cranes and handling at both ends – a decisive point given the narrow, long-established works accesses at many southern German sites.
The process from Southern Germany: feasibility, permit, transport
First we check feasibility: dimensions, weights and centre of gravity against the route – bridge capacities, clearance heights, curve radii and the access right into the works. On that basis you receive a fixed-price quotation. We handle permit management under StVO §29 in full, including liaison with the regional councils (Regierungspräsidien) and motorway authorities as well as the BF3/BF4 escort vehicles. For the heavy haulage itself, a project manager steers loading, driving windows and unloading and remains reachable around the clock – even when the machine only fits through the works gate at the weekend.
Alpine passes, corridors and routes
Southern Germany is a springboard towards Southern and South-Eastern Europe: for routes across the Alpine passes to Austria, Italy and the Balkans we plan with realistic allowance for gradients, tunnel profiles and driving bans. For destinations east of the EU we use the Middle Corridor via Turkey, Georgia and the Caspian Sea – the sanctions-free alternative to routes via Russia and Belarus. We handle customs and transit clearance by T1, TIR or – for exhibition and demonstration machinery – by ATA Carnet throughout, including all transit permits of the countries involved.
Narrow works accesses and used machinery
Many southern German industrial sites have grown over decades: gates from an era of smaller machines, courtyards with limited swept paths, town centre through-roads with tight radii. In the feasibility study we re-measure critical points before the transport is confirmed, and propose alternatives where it gets tight – a different vehicle concept, a changed approach direction, or transhipment onto a more compact unit for the last few metres to the installation point. A second focus in the region is the used machinery market: after auctions or plant closures we collect machines, coordinate dismantling and loading partners where needed, clarify hall gates and floor loading in advance and take care of the export documents at the same time.
For machine builders with a regular export business we dispatch recurring services on a known route and data basis. That noticeably shortens lead times and makes even urgent replacement deliveries from Southern Germany plannable, instead of starting every permit process from scratch. Machine exports thus become a reliable delivery date rather than a customs adventure – with one contact who proactively reports loading, permit and border crossing and re-dispatches immediately if dates shift at short notice.
